These handmade wooden walking sticks are great for hiking trips, daily walks, as a cane substitute, or for a unique wise character costume prop. Also, these really do make the BEST unique and memorable gifts.

DESCRIPTIONS

💠#A is 58.5"
♦ DIAMONDS: Has 18_plus diamonds, with a hint of spalting or railing (where diamonds twist and turn the wood itself). Many diamonds are indented, and make great finger grips.
♦ HAND GRIP: 🚨🚨🚨PLEASE NOTE:🚨🚨🚨 it's not round, but is comfy, yet one must position the stick in their hand, and turn it until they find the comfy spot in the top 5-6''; to hold below that, you can grip anywhere without looking or thinking about it, but it's NOT round, but it does fit in the hand nicely if one doesn't mind a somewhat pointed oval; then at 9" from the top and below, it's more of a rounded oval, where it's the most comfy.
♦ NATURE: A few curves but pretty straight, for the most part (comes back to center)
♦ GIRTH: Top girth is 1.5" diam., bottom girth is 1" diam.
♦ MAX WT: 300 lbs..

💠#B is 58.5" Thin
♦ DIAMONDS: Has 8_plus diamonds, with a hint of spalting or railing (where diamonds twist and turn the wood itself), as well as some [oft coveted] insect markings. Diamonds are only a little bumpy, but all bumps are sanded smooth (but not flat) and make great finger grips or hand guides.
♦ HAND GRIP: is mostly round, either above or below the bulging diamond around the 48.5'' to 51.5'' mark.
♦ NATURE: A few curves but unusually straight.
♦ THIN GIRTH: Top girth is 1-1/8" diam., bottom girth is 1" diam. = best for XS, S or M hand sizes (however, adding a rope wrapped hand grip would make it 1/4" wider in diameter so that Lg hands would find it comfy, as well...please see 'Upgrades' section below)
♦ MAX WT: 250 lbs..

SIDE GUIDE

As a general rule, hiking sticks should be about shoulder height, or 1-2'' below, or 6-8" above the bend in the elbow. But preferences vary, and not all bodies are proportioned the same (eg, shoulder to elbow length, etc.).

Also, the terrain effects the size you might prefer.
♦ HILLY or steep terrain calls for longer hiking staffs (an inch or two above the shoulder, GENERALLY speaking), and
♦ FLAT terrain or slowly rolling hills and groomed trails call for a shorter staff (an inch or two below the shoulder, GENERALLY speaking).

If you've never had a walking stick, try practicing with a broom or other stick to see what feels comfortable.

All weight limits are suggestions. We're not responsible for breakage or injury. These are wood, and we've thrown out any with visible major cracks or rotting wood and only kept the best, but still, wood does age, so keep an eye on your stick's condition as time goes by.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

For use outdoors, but do not leave out in all sorts of heat and cold and moisture for days on end, as these wood sticks and their coatings will break down and decay like old wooden lawn furniture does. Just bring inside when not in use, and wipe off any dirt or moisture, and these will usually last for many, MANY years!

HIGH QUALITY

Harvested and handcrafted by Tim P., from northern Minnesota willow. Sustainably harvested in the truest sense of its meaning, using selective harvesting methods after clambering through the woods and over logs to find one here and there.

ALL STICKS ARE FINISHED, so they've been:
♦ meticulously sanded
♦ had 4-5 coats of clear poly applied
♦ given brand new black rubber cane protector.

Hubby Tim (aka Pa) has had the same walking stick for many years, and he uses either a cane or staff daily, and takes pride in crafting a quality product for you, too!
