Party Recap

I will begin with I LOVE all things vintage, rustic or shabby so this party was right up my alley.

As I was carrying our kitchen table out to the deck I got a rather strange look from my husband. "We have a folding table you can use" he would go on to say so I returned the strange look and kept on walking. After three kids and countless parties, he knows to just leave me be while I do my parties. That being said, the kitchen table was followed by a small dresser, a cabinet, a vintage door and many other smaller home decor items from my collections.

I designed the invitations with a rustic wood background and pink, green and ivory doilies. This was the mainframe for my color scheme. I then chose fabrics, paper goods and other party necessities to go along with the color scheme. This was my first go round at making my own paper fans and I love the way they turned out and the versatility you get with scrapbook paper.

The cake was created by a local lady in Tallahassee and I can't say enough about her talent. This cake brought tears to my eyes! Yes, I stood in the living room of my cake lady's home with tears rolling down my cheeks. Marilyn has done so many cakes for me that I have lost count but for some reason this cake had a physical impact on me. She shares her talent with such love and heart and it shows in every cake she does.

My super talented Aunt did the cookies and they are as delicious as they are beautiful. Every detail so delicate and feminine. Lacey loved them!

I set up a small station at the dresser for Polaroid pics of Lacey and each of her friends that went home with a thank you note and party favor.

The kids enjoyed a giant and I do mean giant water slide as well as some volleyball and badminton.

We had beautiful (hot) Florida weather for the party and opportunities galore for making memories. Until the next one...
