Party Recap

This party was planned extremely fast and on a super tight budget. I love how it came out and I especially love that the birthday boy had a blast! I was afraid of doing all that work and him not enjoying it, after all it was HIS party!

Word of advice: give the baby a nap right before the party ;) he'll wake up refreshed and ready to enjoy!

Thank you for running errands, looking after the baby and taking orders from me, I know it wasn't easy but it is really appreciated!

Thank you. I used the containers from baby puffs and covere them with felt to look like the hat. I put some rocks in so they wouldn't topple over in case of wind ;) Hope that helps!

I collected baby food jars and filled them with red sour candy for the guests then glued the same blue boa from the fish bowls to the lids of the jars to mimic Thing 1 and Thing 2's hair =)

I'm sorry, I have to ask... how did you get the felt around the the puff container, glue? and was it hard to get the brim of the hat at the top?

My glue gun is my best friend, after I glued all the stripes I cute a big circle and cut an X in the middle of the circle. I glued each V to the inside of the container and it helped to give the brim some movement too. Its really easy to do =) Don't put too much glue since its hot it can burn through the container, hope it helps!

When you glued the felt to the container, Did you cover it in red felt and Then put the white stripes over it?

    Amy R wrote:

I was on a strict budget so I actually cut each strip and glued it one by one to save felt, I ended up spending $.50 on each container, but if you're not so tight I guess it'll be easier to do it that way =)

I'm throwing a Dr. Seuss baby shower for my sister at the end of this month and I absolutely love your Cat in the Hat vase. Can I ask how you got the bottom so perfect? It just seems to wrap around the base so nicely I am just wondering how to do the same without puckering.
