Party Recap

My son Trenton was turning 5 and insisted upon a Batman theme party. With so many Batman theme parties out there I wanted to challenge myself and add a spin to this theme. Since he loves Xbox and the Batman videogame we decided to go with a batman- The Videogame theme.

I started the concept with the invitation. I wanted to do something outside the box so I designed a videogame cover with the invite inside. The inside included an image of Robin with the caption “We need your help! Join Batman & friends navigate through Gotham City to find the missing disk” (there would be no CD gaming disk in the invitation case)

When the kids arrived at the party there were game/craft stations with “levels” for them to play/pass. The kids has fun playing and fueling up with sweet treats such as batman cookies, candy drizzled popcorn, mini pudding cups with bat shaped sprinkles, blueberries, cupcakes and candy.

Towards the end of the party each kid got to choose a blank DVD case and at the count of 3 someone would open their case and find the missing disk! The prize was a Lego kit and reading book.

The party favors were Catwoman’s Candy Bricks (Lego brick candies), Action Bar (mini chocolate bar), Joker’s Toxic Goop (Playdoh) and Batman tattoos.

Hi Jodi, I made them. I have a shop on Etsy but I don't sell these there because of licensing agreements with Marvel.

Hi Michelle, I made the backdrop from pulling an image off of the internet and sending it to Office Depot to print. I'm sorry but I cannot remember how much it cost. The smaller pieces (bang, pow and happy birthday) we're printed on my computer and cut out.
