Party Recap
My son, Sam had been watching the original Spiderman cartoons on Netflix, and was running around the house saying "Walliping Web Snatchers!," Etc... So we came to the decision that a Superheroes theme for his 4th birthday would be fitting! I opted for more of a Vintage Superheroes vibe including all Superheroes. As any good mommy would do, I started with Pinterest for ideas and of course landed on "CatchMyParty" where I found lots of inspiration! I used lots of polka dots and chose the colors of Aqua, Red and Yellow! I found some great people on Etsy to help create the party I was hoping for, and in the end it all came together with a lot of help from my mom and a great friend!
As the guest arrived the kids were able to choose their superhero mask, and guest could pose for a picture on our photo booth wall. The kids had fun playing and running around with their mask and jumping off "tall buildings!" The party was at noon so lunch was served. Hero sandwiches, mighty munchies, super fruit and x-ray vision carrots! We got a 6 ft. sub from Subway, and a smaller platter of single servings subs for the kids. The food was fresh and delicious! After eating, Sam opened his great gifts and then it was time for all of the little superhero's to earn their capes! I arranged a simple obstacle course in my backyard. After completing the course, all of the superheroes were awarded their capes and "armed" with silly string! Their was a "Villain" in the neighborhood that was trying to crash the party. He was hiding behind a City Skyline which I created from cardboard boxes I painted black. As the children went to look for him he broke through the boxes, and ultimately was captured by the superheroes and silly string!
